Abstract
Hypertension is an incurable and common incurable disease that has become a major health
problem in Ethiopian society. This study aims to analyze the survival time of high blood pressure
patients at Nekemte Specialized Hospital using data from patients from September 2016 to August
2021. To achieve the purpose of this study, the Kaplan-Meier Test, Cox regression, and the Weibull
regression model were used in the analysis. The results of this study show that patients' age,
smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise, weight gain, diabetes, and having a family history of
hypertension were some of the most important factors in determining the survival time of patients
with high blood pressure. The Weibull regression model was selected to suit the life expectancy of
patients by suggesting that the risk of death of hypertensive patients was always increased at followup months when the results of all factors were zero to 0.0005
