A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ONTHE INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS OF SEMI – SOLID & SOLID LUBRICANTS
SHAIKH AZHARUDDIN KUTUBUDDIN, Dr. KAVULURI VENKATA RAMANA[
Abstract
When two surfaces come into contact with each other, friction and wear can be reduced by using
lubricants. Applied at the point where they meet. In this work, the use of solid and semi-solid
lubricants in various sectors has been studied and reviewed. Solid lubricants have recently gained
popularity as environmentally friendlier, less hazardous, and more readily biodegradable alternatives
to petroleum-based oils.A thickening agent dispersed in a liquid lubricant produces a lubricating
grease that is "solid to semi-fluid." For a better understanding of lubricants, properties, grades, and
so on, the papers listed in the following parts have been reviewed in detail for your convenience. In
addition, it clearly illustrates the distinctions between solid and semisolid lubricants. With the
product's area of application, other types of solid and semi-solid lubricants were also on show.
