A Frequency Reconfigurable Leaky Wave Antenna Based on SIW for Ku-Band Applications
Bellahouel Bouchra, Abri Mehadji and Benzerga Fellah
Abstract
Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology enables the fabrication of small, low-loss devices. The innovative leaky wave antenna described in this paper operates at Ku-band, and is based on SIW technology. We have created two rectangular slots at the antenna. Then four slots. To reconfigure the leaky wave antenna, we added a PIN diode in the center of each slot. PIN diodes are used to control current because they act as insulators that stop the flow of current in the OFF position. The antenna is radiated and properly grounded in the operating condition. Antenna It changes its configuration from one frequency to another through this action without changing its size.
