Abstract
The banana is the most widely cultivated and consumed fruit in India. It is also an attractive perennial fruit crop for farmers due to its high economic gains throughout the year. Banana is one of the oldest tropical fruit which is cultivated by man from prehistoric times in India with great socioeconomic significance, interwoven in the cultural heritage of the country. Banana is one of the oldest fruits known to mankind and also a rich source of energy. It is highly nutritive and very delicious. Tamil Nadu has got first rank in area of production of banana. In India, banana crop accounts for 2.8per cent of agriculture GDP. The main objectives of the study is to study the problems faced by the cultivation and marketing of banana during the corona period. The study mainly based on primary and secondary data. The sample size was fixed at 120 cultivators. The finding of the study is problem faced by the banana cultivation in cultivators during corona period is high cost of production and marketing problems faced by banana cultivators during corona period is Fluctuations in Prices.
