A Study of Impact of Internet Usage on Academic Achievement of Secondary School Students

Abstract
Internet is the most powerful invention of this century. Among the key technical systems that is now altering how we interpret knowledge, value, including social interactions is indeed the internet (Postman, 1992; Webster, 1995). It now serves as a hub for everyone's access to data, communication, business, plus entertainment. The present study was an attempt to investigate how internet use affects secondary school pupils' academic performance. The researcher chose 200 secondary school pupils as the sample population in order to succeed with this endeavour. Saini and Kaur's (2017) Internet Usage Scale was employed to gauge usage. The use of the Internet has been proven to significantly affect secondary school pupils' academic success, according to the study's main results. Academic success is higher among kids who use the web less often than among those who do. Students in secondary schools have been shown to do significantly worse academically based on their gender. Internet use and either gender or location had no discernible interaction effects on secondary school pupils' academic performance.
