Abstract
The Paper focuses on Community Based
Rehabilitation programme and strategies.
Rehabilitation is defined as “a set of
interventions designed to optimize functioning
and reduce disability in individuals with health
conditions in interaction with their
environment”. It highlights on Community
Based Rehabilitation measures taken at the
community level based on the resources of the
community for the benefit of PwDs , their
families and the community as a whole. It
brings into focus the fact that CBR programmes
that are planned and implemented with the
participation of the beneficiaries leads to
sustainable model of living and development
CBR programme conceptualized and practiced
by the Author is now a regular feature of
Parent Training Pprogramme and
Rehabilitation of PwDs in the community.
