A Survey on Task Scheduling Approaches in the Cloud
Isha Sharma, Ruchika Gupta , Pardeep Singh
Abstract
Cloud computing refers to the on-demand availability of computer system resources such as data storage and
processing power. Scheduling refers to the process of distributing jobs to resources in a timely manner. The
constraints applied by the task users and cloud providers must be respected during the scheduling procedure.
It’s challenging to sequence user jobs and at the same time optimally providing efficient job execution on cloud
with Service Level achieved as per the quality norms. Scheduling algorithms are created and implemented with
certain parameters in mind, such as delay, cost, and priority. The goal of this research is to investigate several
forms of job scheduling algorithms for cloud services that are efficient. The aim is to survey research papers
from the years 2009-2022 and summarized them as per the approach used to solve the issue of scheduling in
the cloud environment. The contributions made by different researchers have been taken into account and an
endeavor has been done to summarize the work in the field of scheduling of cloud in the terms of merits and
demerits
