APPLICATION OF NERNST AND GOLDMAN EQUATION
Dr. Shikha Govil
Abstract
Using all of the ions that can traverse the membrane, the Nernst and Goldman equations are used to calculate the equilibrium potential across a cell's membrane. The Hodgkin-Katz-Goldman equation, which takes into consideration the permeabilities of the many ions present in actual cells, is essentially a combined Nernst equation. In this paper we explain the applications of Nernst and Goldman equation with the help of numerical.
