Ashwani Kumar Sen, Dr. Anupama Vinay Oka
Abstract
The history of wound care spans from prehistory to modern medicine. Wounds naturally heal by
themselves, but hunter-gatherers would have noticed several factors and certain herbal remedies would
speed up or assist the process. Each year new mediators are discovered and our understanding of
inflammatory mediators and cellular interactions grows. Many internal and external factors affect wound
healing. This article will provide the reader with a wide overview of wound healing and effect of electrical
