An Energy Efficient AODV-CS Protocol for Neuro Healthcare Applications in WBASN
K. Venkatesh Guru, Dr.K. Prasanth
Abstract
Wireless Body Area Sensor Network (WBASN) enables users to track the user information through body attached handheld devices. WBASN have been widely used in neuro and cognitive healthcare applications because of the raise in brain related medical issues. The information monitored through this sensor devices will be send to server periodically to analyze and make decision regarding users. However sharing these information with the server will be more complex process due to limitations of WBAN devices. WBAN devices are smaller in size and also limited to energy where it is required to concentrate on energy consumption to ensure the successful data transmission. And also in the rural areas with lesser network connectivity it is more complex to transmit the data. This is focused in this work to ensure the successful data communication even with lesser network connectivity and limited energy resource. In this research work Energy and Network Connectivity concerned Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vector Protocol (ENC-AODV) is introduced for successful data transmission. In this research work, initially node position estimation is done based on angular information. Based on this node position information node clustering is done by using Position and Distance aware Clustering algorithm. Here Improved Fuzzy C Means algorithm is introduced for clustering process. After clustering optimal cluster head selection is done using Crow Search Algorithm (CSA) where fitness values considered are residual energy, node’s signal strength, position of nodes and distance to sink node. Through this cluster head secured routing is enabled by authenticating the cluster members, thus selfish and malicious nodes can be eliminated from the routing process. Here authentication is done by using dynamic authentication which consists of four phases such as user registration, Access permission entry, Access detail updation and authentication. After authentication Hybrid Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector-Cuckoo Search (AODV-CS) protocol is utilized to perform routing. In NS2 simulation environment, this research work is analysed experimentally. With optimized energy conservation, data can be transmitted successfully in an optimum way by this proposed protocol as indicated by the results of simulation
