An Overview about Acquisition and Processing of Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Studies

Abstract
Background: Cardiovascular diseases remain one of the leading causes of death worldwide with increased rates in developing countries according to latest statistics from WHO regional reports about cardio-vascular disease (CVD) Deaths that ranks Egypt 18 in the world. Another recent study result found that a relatively high proportion of Egyptian young population was at an increased risk of developing fatal cardiovascular disease within 10 years. Assessment and evaluation of left ventricular function, using Left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) and ventricular volumes are the main corner stone of cardiac diagnostics. Multiple imaging techniques are in diagnostic practice bringing a primitive assumption for the non-expertise that these methods would provide the same results with same accuracy.
