Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction by Press Fit Technique
Atef Mohamed Morsy , Abdel-Aziz El Singergy , Emad Gaber Elbana , Sayed Ahmed Sayed Abdelhafez
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is considered as critical to the normal functioning of the knee. The choice of whether to operate or not is multifactorial and is highly dependent on patient’s degree of symptoms and requirements in terms of activity level and participation in pivoting sports. The decision regarding graft choice and its fixation remains one of the most controversial. The graft could be autograft, allograft, or synthetic. There is much literature about differing methods used ACL reconstruction. Much of this is of poor quality and of a low evidence base.
