Abstract
Celosia argentea is a herbaceous plant and has a place with Amaranthaceae family that fill in an earthbound territory. Plant show basic and spirally organized leaves, blossoms are regularly pinkish or white tone, natural products are in globular shape and seeds are dark. The C. argentea has extraordinary therapeutic worth, utilized in the treatment of exhaustion, leucorrhoea, atherosclerosis and osteoporosis and the seeds have been utilized for decreasing the "liver hotness", further developing the visual perception, clearing wind heat and as a mitigating specialist[1].
The present study was done to the anti-inflammatory activity and anti-oxidant activity of hydroalcoholic extract of Celosia argetea leaves by using in-vitro models. There were to models used for anti-inflammatory activity i.e., Egg Albumin denaturation method and Bovine Serum Albumin Denaturation method at different concentrations and for anti-oxidant activity two in-vitro models were used i.e. Ferrous reducing antioxidant capacity assay and DPPH assay. The hydroalcoholic extract of Celosia argentea showed a significant % inhibition as compared to standard drug aspirin and diclofenac in both models for inflammation. The Hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of Celosia argentea L (Amaranthaceae) was investigated for anti-inflammatory activity and anti-oxidant activity in vitro models.
