Assessment of caregiver burden among attendants of psychotic & neurotic patients: A comparative study

Abstract
Almost 80%caregivers experienceburden. TherearetwotypesofcaregiverburdenObjectiveandSubjective. Chronicity, symptom severity, relapses/exacerbationofpsychiatric illness
needing hospitalization affectfamilydynamics and routine, finances, quality of life, emotional
expression, interpersonal/socialrelationshipsofbothpatientandfamily. Analyzing caregiver burden
can provide data for decision-making,generationofinterventionstrategiesforholisticcare, efficient
care-giving and appropriateintervention
