Abstract
Mancozeb is a dithiocarbamate non-systemic fungicide with broad spectrum in nature on various crops protective action on contact. The hydrolysis test of Mancozeb witnessed fall in Mancozeb Active Ingredient was completely hydrolysed in all three test media of pH 5.0 (acidic), pH 7.0 (neutral) and pH 9.0 (alkaline) media after 5 days during pre-test at 50ºC. Following the results of pre-test, definitive test was executed at 30±0.5ºC and 50±0.5ºC to evaluate the hydrolytic behaviour of Mancozeb and the reaction was monitored for the probable hydrolysis products i.e. Ethyl Urea (EU), Ethylene Thiourea (ETU) and Ethylene bis isothiocyanate (EBIS). All the three hydrolysis products were identified and quantified against their reference standards.
