BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE IN MOBILE BANKING IN IRAQ
Mohammed Akram Noori Madam Norleyza Jailani
Abstract
Iraq is currently a developing country. The mobile banking (M-banking) service acceptance rate is still
relatively low because of security concerns. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate and examine the
critical factors that could affect the acceptance of biometric authentication technology in mobile
banking services in Iraq to address the security concerns. The proposed conceptual model is an
extended UTAUT model, which includes perceived security as an additional factor, and suggests the
inclusion of demographic moderator variables, namely age, gender, work experience, and occupation.
