Biopiracy Prevention in Achieving Sustainable Development in Indonesia
Farras Hakim , Agus Riewanto
Abstract
ndonesia has a high potential for biopiracy, but the crucial question is whether its environmental laws
have been able to achieve sustainable development. This study examines the implementation of the
authority to regulate genetic resources in order to realize equitable resource management in the
GunungLeuser National Park region so as to ensure future legal certainty. This study utilizes primary,
secondary, and tertiary data to develop an empirical law. The results of the study indicate that the role
of upstream, namely the forest itself, plays an important role as the first step in monitoring SDGs
because, in their natural habitat, plants and animals are merely valuable living things that grow and
develop in the wild. Second, GunungLeuser National Park's authority is restricted to the TN region only
