Dr.Sreekala K.G
Abstract
To achieve the purpose of this study, 250 practitioners aged 13 to 19 years, from Kalaripayattu and Taekwondo, with at least one and a half years of experience, were selected. The sample included 75 males and 50 females from each discipline. The mean and standard deviation of the ages for male and female athletes were 15.89 ± 2.05 years and 15.29 ± 1.82 years, respectively. The subjects were tested on finger dexterity using a 100-pin finger dexterity board. Statistical analysis was conducted using mean, standard deviation, and two-way multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) via the SPSS software, with a significance level set at 0.05. The results indicated no significant difference in psychomotor ability finger dexterity time between the groups. However, a significant difference was found between male and female practitioners in finger dexterity error, with female practitioners scoring higher than their male counterparts.
