A. Ponmathi, Dr.S.Sheik Abdullah
Abstract
Eco-banking practices have emerged as a vital dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the banking sector. This study evaluates paperless banking and digital CSR initiatives adopted by banks in Tenkasi District. The growing emphasis on environmental sustainability has pushed banks to reduce their carbon footprint through digital transactions, e-statements, and online services. Paperless banking minimizes resource consumption, while digital CSR projects enhance financial inclusion and awareness. Data were collected from customers and bank officials to assess the adoption level and perception of eco-friendly practices. Findings reveal that customers increasingly prefer digital platforms, appreciating both convenience and environmental benefits. Banks in Tenkasi integrate CSR goals with technology-driven services to support sustainable development. Challenges such as digital literacy, cyber security, and rural penetration remain significant barriers. The study concludes that eco-banking strengthens the link between CSR and green practices in rural banking contexts. Recommendations are offered to improve adoption and maximize sustainable impact in the district.
