Abstract

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is still considered the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the present world. Risk factor assessment, prevention and treatment of CAD are an important aspect of present-day research. The development and progression of coronary atherosclerosis has been related to several specific clinical and laboratory variables as old age, family history, smoking, hypertension diabetes mellitus and obesity.
