Complementarity and Substitutability between Agricultural Imports and Production Factors in Iraq’s Agriculture

Abstract

The study aimed to study the relationship between agricultural imports (exogenous variable) with domestic variables such as labor and capital in the Iraq’s agricultural sector for the production of goods for the period (1990-2018) using transcendental logarithmic cost function, which is a type of flexible functional forms. The iterative seemingly unrelated regression method (ITSUR) was adopted as a standard method for estimating the model to take advantage of the multiple properties such as imposing and testing various restrictions
