Abstract
Introduction: Evidence suggests that integrated disease management can be a transformative approach to improving the quality of life in COPD. Objective: to develop a structured follow-up intervention for self-management of COPD in primary care. Methods: A multicenter study with a 12-month parallel-group treatment design was conducted comparing COPD patients in primary care Results: the MIE cohort improved their knowledge of COPD more than the usual care control group on the score of 29.6% (p < 0.001).
