Design & Analysis of Multi Input Converter Topology for Different Combination of Energy Sources with PISIM
Payal Deshpande, Pragya Nema
Abstract
Power electronic converters play an indispensable role in facilitating the integration of hybrid energy sources (HES) within a hybrid energy system. This study introduces a triple-input DC-DC converter endowed with buck-boost operating capabilities. The converter enables the seamless integration of multiple energy sources, each characterized by distinct current-voltage (I-V) profiles. The output equation of the converter is determined under various operational conditions, leveraging the voltage-second concept. The development and simulation of this converter topology were carried out using PISIM simulation software. To evaluate the converter's performance, three different input sources with voltage levels of 40 V, 30 V, and 16 V were employed. Furthermore, the efficiency profile of the proposed converter was scrutinized under diverse loading conditions. The analysis unequivocally indicates that the discussed converter exhibits a notably high level of efficiency.
