Diagnostic value of Serum Apelin Levels in Children with Heart Failure

Abstract
neuroendocrine activation is typically found in patients with ،Apelin is an endogenous inotrope
congestive heart failure (CHF). This activation includes, among others, the natriuretic peptides, which
are secreted by the cardiac atria and ventricles as a response to volume and/or pressure overload. ANP
has a vasodilator effect and may partly counteract the adverse effects of sympathetic activation in
patients with HF.
