Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable and reliable power supply has led to the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with conventional energy sources like diesel generators. However, power quality issues and voltage regulation remain significant challenges in hybrid microgrid systems. This paper presents an efficient approach to integrating a diesel generator with a boost converter in a PV-based hybrid microgrid, ensuring stable voltage levels and enhanced power quality through a power quality controller. The proposed system effectively manages the conversion of AC power from the diesel generator to DC using a rectifier and optimizes voltage levels using a boost converter. The implementation of a power quality controller improves waveform stability, minimizes harmonics, and enhances system efficiency. The proposed method is validated through simulation and analysis in MATLAB/Simulink.
