Abstract
This study was designed to evaluate antioxidant activity of all the synthetic compounds which are
synthesized in laboratory of department of pharmaceutical chemistry, Adichunchanagiri College of
pharmacy containing carbazole moiety. Among all the characterized compounds DPO-08 (4-(9Hcarbazol-9-yl)-6-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-5,6-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one) compound shows the
better dose dependent antioxidant activity in DPPH method. The compound DPO-08 was
characterized by the melting points-234–236°C; Mass interpretation data (m/z): 382.45, 166.06; IR
interpretation (KBr) νmax, cm−1: 3420 (NH Str), 1455 (Ar-C=C), 1238(C-N), 3051 (Ar C-H) and proton
NMR interpretation(DMSOd6, 400 MHz-δ): (15H, Ar-H) 8.105-7.119, (1H, N-H) 11.236, (H6, N-
(CH3)2)3.491-2.894. It was found that in this case the introduction of dimethylamino functional group
to the para/4th position phenyl group to the Dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-one derivatives with carbazole
nucleus, supplemented with increasing of antioxidant activity in DPPH method
