EFFICIENT FEATURE EXTRACTION OF THE OPTIC CUP AND DISC FROM EYE IMAGES FOR OPTIMAL DETECTION OF GLAUCOMA
PERIYAKARUPPAN K , KAVITHA M S , SHANTHINI J
Abstract
Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can cause irreversible vision loss if left untreated. Regular
glaucoma screenings are important because the disorder is irreversible in its advanced stages. In this
paper, we use a feature extraction process after pre-processing, where the feature extraction involves
feature selection, ranking and sampling. The simulation is conducted on three different datasets to test
the efficacy of the feature selection model. The results of simulation shows that the proposed weight
based ranking provides an improved feature selection than the existing models.
