EXAMINATION OF THE EFFECT OF SUGGESTION-FOCUSED POETRY THERAPY ON EARLY MALADAPTIVE SCHEMAS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS OF ADULTS
Kahraman Güler, Mehmet Çağan
Abstract
This study examines the effect of poetry therapy, which includes suggestion-focused poems, on early maladaptive
schemas and psychological symptoms of adults. It was carried out to determine whether poetry therapy, which is
a type of art therapy, has a therapeutic effect on the maladaptive schemas that people experienced in their early life
and formed in line with their needs, as well as psychological symptoms. It is predicted that well-structured and
prepared poems will have a positive effect on the client's symptoms such as depression, anxiety, somatization and
obsessive compulsiveness
