Abstract
Understanding the mechanisms underlying excitation energy transfer (EET) in photosynthetic systems is crucial for optimizing energy conversion processes. In this study, we investigate the role of Light-Harvesting Complex 1 (LHCI) in facilitating EET between higher excited states of photosynthetic pigments. Through spectroscopic analysis and computational modeling, we elucidate the dynamics and efficiency of EET processes within LHCI and its interaction with other components of the photosynthetic machinery. Our findings shed light on the intricate interplay between pigment molecules and protein complexes in energy harvesting and transfer, offering insights into the fundamental principles governing photosynthesis
