EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS ON THICKNESS OF PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL FOR COOLING
Ashish Kumar, Md Irshad Alam, Anil Kumar, Akshay Sharma
Abstract
In our day to day life phase change material (PCM) keep an important role due to its heat storage capacity property. Phase change material store heat during the heating process without increasing the temperature and release the heat during the solidification process.PCM is used in the different area like cooling of building, cooling of electronic devices, medical fields etc. Selection of proper PCM with proper thickness is important to make the system work properly. In this regard an experimental work is carried out with PCM OM-29(Organic material-29) having melting temperature 29 ℃ for two different temperatures. As a result it is found that thickness range from 3 cm to 4cm is good to maintain the temperature range from 30℃ -34℃.
