Effective Inventory Management of Selectable Parts (Shims or Spacers) In the Automobile Industry

Abstract
This paper focuses on how the inventory of selectable parts known as "shims or spacers" (SKU) can be managed effectively in the automobile industry by making use of a simple real-time visual information system and gaining the benefits of a reduction in resources such as manpower, utilities, time, ordering, space, and rework, among other things. The inventory of selectable parts can be managed effectively in the automobile industry by using a simple real-time visual information system. In addition to this, primary attention is placed on eliminating bottlenecks in the processes that take place within the four walls of the organization as well as locating waste that occurs across the entirety of the operation of the automotive component manufacturing industry
