Abstract
The administration of pilocarpine to rats’cause’s status epilepticus (SE) and, after an incubation time, impulsive seizure. This model is frequently used to study epileptogenesismechanisms and novel compound antiepileptic properties. The goal of this study is to determine the amount of time it takes from SE to the first spontaneous seizures, as well as the type and frequency of spontaneous seizures in the early stages of pilocarpineinduced epilepsy, and also to evaluate the effect of SarswataChurna in the spontaneous recurrent motor seizure (SRMS) activity in the pilocarpine-induced rat model of epilepsy
