Endodontic management of mandibular molar with abstruse anatomy: A rare case of extra canal in Radix Entomolaris
Dr Surmayee Singh,Dr Shreya Raj,Dr. Karthik Shetty
Abstract
In-depth knowledge of root canal anatomy is particularly important for the endodontic treatment of molars. Aberrations in the root canal system can present a significant difficulty for the endodontist during root canal treatment. These can result in the endodontist missing a canal, which becomes a complication later. With advances in technology, it is possible to assess the tooth in three dimensions. This has proven to be an effective tool for endodontic treatment of the entire root canal system and to improve treatment outcome. Molar endodontics is a challenge with widespread anomalies. One of them is the supernumerary root. While a supernumerary root is a fairly common finding, the occurrence of an extra canal with it is fairly rare. This case report presents a modern method of endodontic treatment of the complex radix entomolaris case.
