Enhancement of soft socket liner with shuttle lock technique for transtibial prosthesis

Abstract

After amputation surgery, the patients need a suitable socket with a comfortable liner to prevent problems that occur in the skin and to avoid discomfort when using the prosthesis. Due to hot weather in Iraq, the patients who use the traditional socket with silicon liners suffer from many problems such as sweating leading to the growth of bacteria and thus appearing foul smell, sensitivity and skin irritation, and frequent damage to silicon liner
