Ghandge Jaishree Ramchandra, Dr.Dinanath Pawar
Abstract
This study delves into the evolutionary journey of an ICT-enhanced library information system, closely examining the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) resources and the corresponding advancement of ICT skills. Libraries have witnessed a transformative shift in their operations, transitioning from traditional information repositories to dynamic digital hubs. Through an in-depth analysis of case studies and user feedback, this research uncovers the multifaceted impact of ICT integration on library services and user experiences. The findings reveal the positive outcomes of enhanced accessibility, resource diversity, and collaborative potential. However, the study also highlights the persistent challenge of fostering comprehensive ICT skills among library staff and patrons. The implications of this research underscore the vital need for continuous ICT skill development to ensure equitable access to information and to maximize the benefits of an ICT-enhanced library information system in the digital age.
