Exploratory Study of Procrastination in Students of Initial Education of Ecuador

Abstract
In the research established the relationship between emotional intelligence and procrastination in students of preschool education of the public institutions of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador; to give an answer to What kind of
relationship exists between emotional intelligence and procrastination in students?, using an empirical approach,descriptive and correlational, adopting the systematic approach of the variables. It is confirmed that emotional
intelligence has a direct negative effect on procrastination academics, backed up by the data from the sample of 226 students, which means that the higher the value of emotional intelligence, the lower the procrastination of students,
and vice versa. In conclusion, academic procrastination tends to influence directly in the educational setting, affecting the academic performance and psychological well-being.
