Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Versus Kinesio Tape in the Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Post-Menopausal Women

Abstract
Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most prevalent median nerve compressive lesion at the wrist in women with a higher incidence, particularly around menopause. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of extracorporeal shock wave versus Kinesio tape in treating carpal tunnel syndrome in postmenopausal women. Materials and Methods: Fifty post-menopausal women with positive electrodiagnostic findings aged 45 to 55 years old were assigned randomly into two groups of equal size; group (A) was given a program of 8 sessions of shock wave therapy on the affected wrist, 5 minutes per session that comprised 2,000 shots, at a pressure of four Bar, and a frequency of 5 Hz, 1 session per week for 8 weeks
