FACTORS RELATED TO THE DERMATOSIS EVENT IN SEAWEED HARVESTING MOTHERS, TAKALAR DISTRICT
Juherah, Andi Ruhban
Abstract
Some farmers grass impaired skin disease. It is because it is estimated that toxins are attached to the seaweed during the work process, so if there is direct contact with it, it will cause skin disorders. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of dermatosis in Takalar Regency seaweed workers. This type of research is analytical observational with an approach case-control with a sampling techniquemethod that is simple random sampling. Data analysis usingtest chi square. The results showed that the p-value of protective equipment (p = 1,000) means that there is no relationship between personal protective equipment and the incidence of dermatosis, length of work (p = 0.013), personal hygiene (p = 0.017), and years of service (p = 0.047). The three variables are related to the incidence of dermatosis in seaweed harvesters. This study concludes that there is no relationship between personal protective equipment and the incidence of dermatosis. There is a relationship between the length of work, personal hygiene, and tenure on the dermatosis incidence in Takalar district seaweed harvesters. Seaweed farmers should pay more attention to personal hygiene. Use PPE, and pay attention to working hours/day to reduce the incidence of dermatosis.
