Abstract
The goal of this study is to look at the formulation and characterization of the anti-depressant Venlafaxine hydrochloride Floating Drug Delivery System (FDDS), which is used to treat depression. Floating system is a type of gastro retentive system that releases 24 hours a day, it is very useful in those drugs that have lower bioavailability and it is very useful in depression since the patient is not in condition to take medication. In this formulation, different types of excipients such as HPMC, Carnauba wax, Sodium Bi carbonate, Cetyl alcohol, Talc, Olive oil, and drug formulate and give satisfactory and optimal release while remaining buoyant on the medium surface. The conclusion is that this formulation is successful and increases bioavailability and gastric residence time
