Gymnemic acid is a natural compound, which is used in diabetes management in raw form. In the proposed work the Gymnemic acid will be delivered through lipid carrier system. The objective of the proposed research work is to formulate a drug delivery system with the better stability, drug carrying capacity and higher bioavailability with lesser side effects. The proposed drug system is selected due to its higher lipid solubility and its nature to mimic the cell behavior. Phytosomes was prepared in different ratios of gymnemic acid to phosphatidylcholine. The different formulations were then characterized in terms of size shape and surface properties, by the use of microscopic techniques, SEM, DSC and FTIR. SEM.
