Formulation Of Anti Septic Ointment For Treatment Of Skin Disorders
Ashish Antil , Dr. Sayantan Mukhopadhyay , Mr. Mohit Kumar
Abstract
The major objectives of this research were the creation and assessment of an aloe vera-based ointment.
In this investigation, a number of drugs were combined in order to create these combinations. When
evaluating the base's pH, strength, spread-ability, water number, and wash ability against the standard
base, it was put to the test against the standard base. It was also examined for compatibility, drug
content, in vitro drug diffusion and ex vivo permeability, as well as skin irritation on rats' skin, for the
development and improvement of the enhanced formulation. In addition, all of the ointment
formulations were determined to have acceptable physicochemical qualities. Prototype formulations
based on the USP criteria were not as effective as formulation F5, which included greater doses of
aloevera and metronidazole. Based on its viscosity, strength, and spreadability, Formulation F5 was
chosen as the best formulation. Metronidazole was shown to have acceptable medicinal properties for
ointment formulation. It's possible that it'll displace more costly ointment bases in the near future.
