Good Leadership Character Indexes in the Works of Raja Ali Haji

Abstract

This paper seeks to investigate good leadership character indexes in the works of Raja Ali Haji. Five works—Syair Abdul Muluk, GurindamDuaBelas, Thamarat al-Muhimmah, Tuhfat al-Nafis, and SyairSinarGemalaMestikaAlam— were analyzed in this study. Pierce's semiotic theory is used to analyze the data. In this regard, descriptive-qualitative methods and content analysis techniques are used. This study discloses twenty-five good leadership character indexes in the works of Raja Ali Haji. Those indexes belong to four semiotic classes, including rheumatic iconic qualisign, rheumatic indexical sinsign, dicent indexical legisign, and argument.
