INVESTIGATING THE EFFECT OF MATERIAL ON NACA 2414 WIND TURBINE BLADES USING SO-LIDWORKS
Souad Belhour, Abdelkarim Ferouani
Abstract
The study concerns the design and simulation of a small three-blade wind turbine. Given the results that have achieved, it has been possible to estimate approximately the cost of producing such a wind turbine to be used in particular regions because of their isolation and that they may be accessible to a large number of people whose need is felt, such as in the Sahel. This is why, and in the face of such concerns, we have been led to retain the NACA 2414 profile as the most appropriate choice, and which has been the subject of a systematic characterization in order to define the practical modalities for its application experimental reali-zation. Similarly, it was considered useful to analyze the effect of the nature of the material used on the intrinsic properties of wind turbines, in particular the mechanical properties using Solid Works (SW) software that have a direct impact on the proper functioning of wind turbines, and analyze the effect of wind speed and blade diameter on wind energy.
