Abstract
The blockchain technology (BT) offers great potential to promote various sectors with its unique combination of characteristics such as decentralization, immutability, and transparency. There is a promising possibility in the use of this technology for science and academia. The main reason for the interest in Block chain is its central attributes that provide security, anonymity and data integrity without any third party organization in control of the transactions, and therefore it creates interesting research areas, especially from the perspective of technical challenges and limitations. This paper attempts to analyze the various scientometrics dimensions of blockchain technology research in India with special reference to Scopus database. It is evident that there is a steep increase in the blockchain technology research for the past five years. Total of 1617 publications were traced and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has more publications in this research area and Kumar, N. is the predominant author in the field of block chain technology. Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, India has funded ore for this type of research. 76 publications were collaborated with USA for this block chain technology research.
