Interpretation of intermolecular interaction by experimental charge density analysis
Dipak K. Hazra
Abstract
The charge density analysis (CDA) approach has proven to be the most informative tool for
investigating the fundamental properties of condensed matter specially the intermolecular
interactions including the hydrogen bonding in crystalline solids. In addition to structure analysis
accurate charge density studies of molecular compounds, which enable us to extract a quantitative
description of bonds and non-bonded interactions associated with the electron density. Evaluation of
intermolecular interactions in terms of experimental charge density analysis has produced a unique
presentation to classify strong and weak hydrogen bonds
