JOB SATISFACTION AMONGST NURSES IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL OF J&K

Abstract
Introduction Job satisfaction is “a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from appraisal
of one’s job or job experience”. Since a person spends a major portion of life in work or job, thus
if a person is satisfied with job, he/she is in a major portion satisfied with his/her life.
Need for the study: Since women contribute to nearly a half of the population, their health
problems require a special attention. As such the department of Gynaecology and obstetrics was
selected for the current study. The current study is further focussed on the nurses since they are
in immediate concern and care of the patients.
