Liposomes Used In The Treatment Of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Monika S Mahadik, Dr V Chitra
Abstract
In the field of biomedicine, growing developments in nanotechnology and nanoscience have inspired high aspirations. Nanomaterials overcome various obstacles in a variety of medical sectors, including health, diagnosis, and therapy, thanks to their distinctive, versatile, and adaptable qualities. One of the nanoparticles that is most frequently employed in biomedicine is the nanoliposome. Lipid bilayer spherical membranes called liposomes offer both hydrophilic and hydrophobic environments. In this review, we studied how liposomal formulation plays a crucial part in overcoming all physiological barriers and safeguarding sensitive medications in the gastrointestinal system, which helps to maintain stability. Recent developments in IBD treatment have caused a paradigm change in the therapeutic objectives, moving away from the ideal of a symptom-free everyday life and toward the target of mucosal repair.
