MANAGEMENT OF PSORIASIS THE AYURVEDA WAY

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic disease that has a significant psychological and social impact on the lives of those affected. However, the therapeutic options available in the current medical system are not very acceptable. In the current century, with the routines of machines, fast food and fast and hectic life, human beings are faced with a variety of diseases. Bad eating habits, lack of sleep, stress and pollution accelerate the disturbance in the body. At present, skin diseases, more than physical ones, are becoming a great threat to mental health, as they alter cosmetic harmony. Psoriasis is one of the most common dermatological diseases, affecting up to 2.5% of the world's population. It is a non-contagious inflammatory skin disease characterized clinically by erythematous, well-defined and rounded plaques covered with silvery scales. It can be compared with Ekakushtha who has Asvedanam, Mahavastu and Matsyashakalopamam Avastha. Psoriasis is compared with Eka Kushtha in Ayurveda and is much more than "just a skin disease".
