Methods for Choosing the Transmit Antenna in Wireless Communications MIMO Systems
Mehak Saini and Surender K. Grewal
Abstract
The use of many antennas in MIMO systems enhances the performance of a wireless
communication network, but the requirement for a unique RF chain—the electrical parts needed for
antenna transmission and reception in wireless communication—for each antenna raises complexity
and costs. A successful method to address this problem is the MIMO antenna selection methodology.
Out of all the antennas included in the MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) system, antenna selection
algorithms determine the ideal number that is needed
