NAVIGATING SCHOOL TRANSITIONS AND MENTAL HEALTH AMONG ADOLESCENTS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN DENMARK AND AUSTRALIA
Dr.S.Mallikarjuna
Abstract
This study compares age patterns in kids' school connectedness, emotional symptoms, and behavioral issues to investigate the impact of primary to secondary school transition in Australia vs no transition in Denmark. In order to compare 11–12 (before to transition in Australia), 13–14 (during transition), and 15 year-olds (post–transition) in each nation, survey data from 5067 pupils in Australia and Denmark were employed. There were no discernible age group variations in emotional symptoms, behavioral issues, or school connectivity in Australia that were statistically significant. Age-related increases in emotional symptoms, behavioral issues, and poor school connectedness were seen in Denmark. It is advised that Australia keep up its efforts to support kids during transition and beyond, that Denmark place more of an emphasis on mental health and school connectivity.
